Symposium Modernism and the RKD

Farewell Anita Hopmans

On 21 september 2023 the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History will say goodbye to Senior Curator Anita Hopmans. To celebrate Anita’s retirement, the RKD organises a symposium about Modernism and the RKD. Six speakers will tell about subjects varying from the acquisition and digitalisation of Modernist archives to collaborative research projects with the RKD, and Anita in particular.

Anita Hopmans

Anita Hopmans worked for twenty years for the RKD in various roles, from Head of Collections & Research to Senior Programme Manager (Museological) Research, often with a focus on Modern and Contemporary Art. She also contributed to RKD’s Sources Series and the RKD Digital Research project, which was subsidized by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. As of 2020, she is involved in various external research and exhibition projects as Senior Curator, most recently Singer Laren's successful exhibition: Kees van Dongen – The road to success and the inspiring exhibition Van Gogh, Cézanne, Le Fauconnier & the Bergen School in Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar.
