Call for Papers: ESNA Talks 2020

On Wednesday 18 November ESNA (European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art) and the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History will present ESNA Talks: online presentations on research on nineteenth-century art and culture.

The events of the last few months have had a great impact on ESNA. Although the times are sometimes strange, we want to remain visible and will therefore this autumn introduce ESNA Talks, an online platform for the presentation of current research into the art and culture of the long nineteenth century.

Call for Papers

We invite you to submit a short proposal for a digital presentation of a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes on a subject of your choice via Ideally, the proposal should be submitted on film, for example one or two images in a PowerPoint with a filmed presentation. The deadline is 4 September 2020. If your proposal is accepted, we will contact you at the beginning of October. The chosen presentations will go online on November 18, 2020. For your information, the ESNA Talks will be published under one of the Creative Commons licenses.

With this initiative we not only hope to create a sense of community in our field, but above all to provide an inspiring opportunity to contribute to it in a creative and meaningful way. Everyone is, as always, welcome!
