Curriculum vitae and duties

Niek Tom (1952) graduated in 1975 from the department of Plastics Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam. He then studied Museology at the Reinwardt Academy in Leiden. In 1994 he graduated from Leiden University with a degree in history. He worked for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Utrecht where he was involved in an exhibition specially set up for the blind and visually impaired. At the same time he also worked as part-time advisor to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Utrecht and was employed by the State Department of Castle Management in The Hague. He has worked for the RKD-Netherlands Institute for Art History since 1993 in various positions. He is currently working for the department of Communication and Development.
