RKD Netherland Institute for art History
Lidy began her career in 1975. For more than twenty years she worked in mainstream as well as Rudolf Steiner schools. In the late 1990s she took a course in Information Provision and Management at the Institute for Media and Information Management, Amsterdam. She subsequently obtained a diploma in Archives and Records Management (‘Archivistiek B’) from the Netherlands Institute for Archival Education and Research in Amsterdam. For the Rijksmuseum she documented the archive of the Society of Friends of Asian Art, founded in 1918.Since 2001 Lidy has worked as archivist at the RKD, a job that allows her to make excellent use of her interest in visual art. Over the years, she has inventoried archives of artists, art historians, art dealers and galleries, including the extensive archive of the Art & Project Gallery. Her experience as archivist has taught her that each archive is unique and requires an individual solution. Lidy considers it as her mission to make the RKD’s rich collections visible online and available for research.
