Bénine Buijze (BA)

Curriculum vitae and duties

Bénine Buijze completed her BA Liberal Arts & Sciences in 2013 at Amsterdam University College where she studied history, film studies, but especially art history. Her interest in making museums more accessible to a wide audience was piqued and after her bachelor's, she took courses in the Master's in Museums and Collections at Leiden University.

During her studies, Buijze did internships at Huygens Institute for Dutch History and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). In a gap year, Buijze did a work experience internship in the Marketing & Communications department at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, where she would later do audience research.

After her studies, Buijze started working as a self-employed person at museums and cultural events, including International Film Festival Rotterdam, Rotterdamse Dakendagen, Oerol and National Museum Week.

From 2022, Buijze works as Event Manager at the RKD, where she and the Service & Communications department will work on increasing support and reach for the RKD's activities and research.
