Lynne van Rhijn

Curriculum vitae and duties

Art historian Lynne van Rhijn took a Masters in Museum Curatorship during which she worked as trainee curator at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. As Curator for Modern and Contemporary Art at the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History she is involved in managing scholarship and research on the collection. In 2021 this resulted, for example, in a publication and exhibition about radically modern art in The Hague in the post-war period.


Additional positions

Van Rhijn has worked as a guest curator at the Nest contemporary art platform in The Hague, at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe (herman de vries / to be / verzamelingen) as well as the Kunstmuseum in The Hague. She has also written for a number of publications including De Witte Raaf, De Groene Amsterdammer, Winkler Prins Encyclopedie, Tubelight and Kunstbeeld. For the two last-mentioned journals she has also acted as senior editor. In 2010 Van Rhijn won the Prize for Young Art Critics. She has acted as advisor for the Stroom Den Haag art centre, the Mondriaan Fund, the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and she was on the jury for the Wolvecamp Prize 2010, the Scheffer Prize 2011 and the Charlotte Köhler Prize in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
