Directions business visitor or supplier
- From Prins Clausplein, stay on the A12 towards The Hague and keep following it (this is the Utrechtse Baan).
- Take exit 2 (P-Centrum).
- Turn left at the first traffic lights. Then immediately turn right onto the service road, at the blue sign P, across the cycle path (Prins Willem-Alexanderweg).
- After 50 metres, turn right and report to the RKD/KB/National Archives gates. The left gate is for truck traffic, the right one is for cars.
Directions for studyroom, exhibition and event visitors
The Royal Library (KB) complex that houses the RKD, is located between the Central Station and the Utrechtsebaan (A12) in The Hague.
Public transport
The RKD is within walking distance of The Hague Central Station, which makes it easy to reach by train, tram or bus.
- At Den Haag CS, take the exit towards the Anna van Buerenplein.
- After you exit The Hague CS, cross diagonally to the right towards the Nationaal Archief. Turn left here.
- Following this footpath will take you to the entrance of the KB complex. On the ground floor you will find the RKD on the right.
Bicycle
If you choose to come by bike, you can follow the same route from The Hague CS. You can stall your bike in the (unguarded) bicycle racks to the right of the entrance.
Car
Visitors can find paid parking in the nearby Q-park CS New Babylon. An alternative option is to use P+R Station Ypenburg, which is located right next to the A12. On P+R Station Ypenburg you can park for free at Prinses Maximaplein. From here, it takes 8 minutes to reach The Hague CS by train.
Q-Park CS New Babylon from the direction of Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam: route A4, A12 and A13:
- At Prins Clausplein, follow the direction of The Hague Centre via Utrechtsebaan (A12).
- Take exit 2 towards Central Station/Centrum-Zuid
- Follow the road towards the Prins Clauslaan
- Go left towards the Bezuidenhoutseweg
- Go left towards the Pr. Irenestraat
