Modern and Contemporary Dutch and Belgian Art

The Modern and Contemporary Dutch and Belgian Art collection comprises more than 1.3 million photographs, reproductions and slides of paintings, drawings, sculptures and objects from Dutch and Flemish artists from the period 1900 till the present day.

The material is divided into a selection of photographs and reproductions and a slide collection. The collection of photographs and reproductions contains around 1.1 million images and is categorised by Dutch and Flemish Art, art form and artist. The slide collection contains around 250,000 records and is categorised by artist. As the slides are stored in a cold store they can only be consulted by prior appointment with at least two days notice.

Specific sections of the image collection are indexed in RKDimages, such as the Jan Sluijters and Otto B. de Kat oeuvre, as well as the work of artists such as Piet Mondrian, Piet van der Hem and Leo Gestel which make up part of the J.F.S. Esser collection.
