In October, the book Painters and Communities in Seventeenth-Century Brussels: A Social History of Art, written by RKD curator Rudy Jos Beerens and published by Leuven University Press, will be released. The book explores the interplay between social structures and artistic production in early modern Brussels, providing the first comprehensive overview of the many painters who were active in the capital of the Southern Netherlands.

To celebrate the publication of Painters and Communities in Seventeenth-Century Brussels, the RKD will host a book launch on Tuesday, October 29. During the event, Rudy Jos Beerens will present his research and findings, followed by a Q&A session and the opportunity for informal discussion over drinks.

All those interested are warmly invited to attend. Please register via events@rkd.nl.
