    On August 26, 1750 Melchior Brassauw made his will. He lived in Kloosterstraat and was widower of Maria Fredewael and now married to Joanna Margaritha Nolemans (Notary P. Schoesetter, N 2991 // June 18, 1770: probate inventory of J.B. Verachtert, merchant. Under art.15: Sr. Brisschouw, painter, rents a house in Schuttershofstraat for 66 guilders. (Notary J.P. de Witte, N 1255 f 103(van Hemeldonck 2007) // First mentioned in the Antwerp Guild on 26 October 1752 as teacher of Franciscus Hoffmans ; dean of the Guild betwen 18 September 1756-18 September 1757(Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961)
