    Already at the age of fourteen, Carriera received her first drawing lessons from Giuseppe Diamantini. Her education also provided for the copying of oil paintings, which she did until 1698. Around 1746, Carriera's eyes went backwards, leading to complete blindness in 1757.

    at the invitation of Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz, for whom Carriera produced a large number of miniatures and pastels until circa 1716
