    Corinth visited Berlin between 1876 and 1880, in the winter of 1887-88, and stayed there regularly from 1899 when he moved into a studio and a second home. 1900: moving to a new home / studio; 1901: Corinth opens his own Malerschule and is elected to the board of the 'Berliner Secession'; his first pupil was Charlotte Berend, with whom he would marry in 1904; 1911: elected president of the Sezession; Corinth gets a stroke; 1915: appointment as 'Präsident' of the Sezession; 1918: large Sezession exhibition in honor of Corinth's sixtieth birthday
