Period of activity
1646 - 1678
period of dated works, possibly already in 1646 but certainly since 1647
Active in
  • Italië 1647 - 1652
possibly on any moment between 1646 and 1652 a journey to Italy (according to Hoogewerff 1952, p. 93 from 1642 to 1647, but that does not seem right, as he was very young then). There is no proof whatsoever that Dujardin went to Italy around his 20th year. Also Kilian 2005 does not mention a journey to Italy when he was young.
  • Lyon 1648 - 1649
Possibly shortly before 1650 in Lyon (Kilian 2005, p. 7). According to Houbraken Dujardin met his future wife in Lyon, but this is possibly not right.
  • Parijs 1649 - 1650
lived in 1649 in the Rue des Petits-Champs in Paris; married on 24 December 1649 in Paris with Susanna van Roy, widow of Martin Linssen (Mandrella 2012, p. 287, note 7: marriage contract Paris, Archives Nationales); signed a deed in Amsterdam on 29 August 1650 and called himself a merchant on his way to Paris (Kilian 2005, p. 7).

In February 1651 back in Amsterdam, still mentioned there in 1652 and in September 1655 (Kilian 2005, p. 8).
  • Den Haag 1656 - 1658
co-founder (October 21, 1656) and member of the painter society Pictura, in 1657 a member of the militia (the Vendel Colombyne), delivered in October 1657 a painting for the guild (Kilian 2005, p. 8-9)
