In 1935 ontmoette Taro in Parijs André Friedmann (Capa), ging bij hem in de leer en werd zijn assistente, waarna ze bij Alliance Photo ging werken. Maria Eisners's photo agency, Paris,1935-1936
Spanje
Gedurende de Spaanse Burgeroorlog fotografeerden ze aanvankelijk gezamenlijk onder de naam Robert Capa. Taro werkte met een Rollei, Capa/Friedmann met een Leica. Ook brachten ze werk naar buiten onder Capa&Taro.
