Family relationships
this field records any family relationship to one or more other artist(s).
His parents were Daniel Wollf (Kramer = merchant) and Anna Maria Wagenseil. He married on 3 July 1689 with Judith Danckenmeier. They got a few children, but the only one important for us is his daughter Sibylla (1691-1723), who married Johann Balthasar Probst (1689-1750) who took over his publishing house after his death; Jeremias married a second time on 28 December 1722 with Judith Dilscher (buried 2 April 1745), no issue

He went to school in the Augsburg St. Anna Gymnasium and then learned to become a watchmaker. He never made his Master-title, but instead started to make automatons, till the Guild of the Watchmakers complainted and had the city-council forbid the making of these machines. Wollf then became 'Kunsthändler', which in this time meant, publisher of copper engravings and Einblätter. His oldest printing privilege dates from 1697 (Schwarz 1997. See this article on p. 592 for particulars of his other children and their issue).
