    until after 1762. Until that year he worked for his brother; in 1762 he settled as an independent painter. His acceptance painting for the guild, signed J.C.B. Nothnagel 1762 was a flowerpiece in the manner of Jacob Marrel. In 1862 is was hanging in the Kaiserstiege (Gwinner 1862); in 1914 in the Friedhofskommission of the town hall (Bangel 1914).
