    master in the Guild of St. Luke, Antwerp in 1456 (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961); on 6 May 1462 Margriete Mortelmans, trader, gave painter Luyck Coddeman and sculptor Jan van der Clocken power of attorney over her house in Antwerp; on 19 March 1463 Jan and his mother settled the estate of father Jan I (died 1462); in 1465 Jan and his wife Marie settled financial interests on several properties, including house "'t Leeuken", Wijngaardstraat; on 24 October 1465 Wouter van Varenbeeck, peat carrier, and van der Clocken conclude a contract for the training of Adryaen Wouters for the time of nine years; on 8 August 1468 Marie Waerloos and her 2nd husband, sculptor Kristoffel Smeets, together with the painters Lucas Coddeman and Jan van den Broecke, act as guardians of the children of the late Jan Clocken II and his wife Marie Waerloos (van Hemeldonck 2007)
