    On 31 August 1619 the artist received a passport to bring 3 boxes with 18 tapestries to Christian IV in Denmark. On 31 December Christian IV declared that he had received 26 tapestries for private use.

    Before his death he was sued by 17 employees for malversations with the 'Knegtenbusse' (a health insurance fund), from which fl. 318,- was appropriated by Van Mander. Nothing came from this lawsuit: van Mander was shortly afterwards declared bankrupt and died in 1623, while his wife fled the city.
