son of Peter Mignon (1617-1660), who was a merchant, and Catharina le Bleu (1619-1673) as the eldest of four childeren. He was married to Maria Willarts on 3 February 1675 in the French Reformed Janskerk in Utrecht. She was a granddaughter of Adam Willarts (1577-1664), daughter of Cornelis Willarts, both painters, and niece of Jacob Gillig, painter of fish still lifes. The couple had two daughters, Catharina (baptized 17 November 1675) and Anna (baptized 20 February 1678) (Kraemer-Noble 2007, p. 13).
