    After his father's death in 1670 he probably returned to The Hague and took over his father's studio; he finished commissions for the Princesses of Anhalt-Dessau and received new ones: hence there are many works found in the Dessau castles (Georgium, Großkühnau, Mosigkau, Oranienbaum). He was a member of Confrerie Pictura and co-founder of the drawing academy.
