Date already mentioned by Houbraken 1718, p. 349. According to Houbraken he died of the plague after he was conaminated by a girl he was in love with (and who died first). He was buried with his grandfather Cornelis van Haarlem.

Cornelis Bega was a close friend of Leendert van de Cooghen (1632-1681) and Vincent Laurentsz. van der Vinne I (1628-1702). (Biesboer/Köhler et al. 2006 p. 100-101).
