    from 1515 on he worked for Margaretha of Austria, governess of The Netherlands and after her death in the employment of her successor Queen Mary of Hungary. In 1527 the family van Orley organized Lutheran services in the house of Bernard and Everaert, where Nicolaes van der Elst, the apostate pastor of the St. Jacob's Church in Antwerp preached. For this crime they were fined and condemned to a public confession of guilt in the St. Gudula Church in Brussels (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961, p. 86-87 & note 3)
