From 1501 onwards, he held several official functions in St. Luke's Guild in Bruges, dean in 1519 and 1525; in 1506 he registered Maximiliaen Frans as an apprentice. Between In 1509 and 1527, Provoost regularly received commissions from churches, the city and the county of Bruges. In 1520, he directed the execution of the decorations for the festive entry (Joyeuse Entrée) of emperor Charles V. In 1521 Dürer traveled to Bruges from Antwerp with Provoost and was his guest for three days; now Dürer drew his portrait and that of his third wife Katelijne Beaureins with silver pen (Saur 2018).
