    was a member of the guild in 1611, became citizen of Emden the same day (Starcke 1899, p. 169). In 1642 he was deacon of the 'Vreembden Nederduitschen Armen', indicating that he was not from Emden himself (Starcke 1899, p. 169, note 1). As his paintings were in the style of Jan Brueghel I, he probably came from the Southern Netherlands.
