    Presumably Jacob traveled to Italy with his brother Jan, during Jan's second trip in 1617. However, he may have taken over the Italian motifs that Jacob used in his paintings and drawings from his brother Jan (Schatborn 2001, p. 47-49). According to Veldman in Saur 2018, he went around 1615/16.
