Houbraken states that Jacob Torenvliet, travel compagnion, was 29 years old when he was in Rome (= in 1670). Dirkse 1984/2001 assumes that Roosendael went up and down to Rome between 5 March 1670, when he and his wife made a will, and July 1670, when he and his wife received the inheritance of his parents-in-law. Other authors presume that Roosendael left for Italy after July 1670 (Sluijter et al. 1988, Lammertse/van der Veen 2006, Lips 2009, p. 7, 26, note 21).
