    He painted two portraits of Dutch tradesmen, Willem de Wilde from Haarlem and Joost Brasser (Tylicki 2000), who were residents in Danzig (Gdansk) at this time.

    According to Houbraken he was received there in 1637 by courtpainter Bartholemeus Strobel, who introduced him to the Polish king; again according to Houbraken he painted the king’s portrait; he is also supposed to have worked for Wladislaus IV, king of Poland (Houbraken 1719).
