He married in Amsterdam on 5 April 1657 at the age of 21 to Maria Pieters Oude(r)ker(c)k, who was a catholic (De Vries 1886). They had five childeren, all baptized catholic. His eldest was his daughter Judith (born 10 June 1659), who married the broker Theodor Soudin (died 1727) on 23 November 1682 in Amsterdam (Frensemeier 2001, p. 8, note 36).
