Notice of marriage 8 October 1672, 22 years old, to Judith Voorheul (1646-1708) from Delft (De Vries 1886). They had three aughters and two sons, Nicolaas Verkolje (1673-1746) and Jan Verkolje II (1683-1755). The Verkoljes were members of the Mennonite congregation.
