Levin 1888 (Quellinus): 1675. Levin also mentions, that Vorsterman was very poor almost all his life, living from a subsidy from the Guild; further that he suffered several bankrupties. It also seems, that he lost most of his eyesight 15/16 years before his death, so that he could no longer cut his engravings and that he lived 'opposite the cloister of the Black Nuns (Swertsusters), where one of his daughters was a nun and that she cared for him till the end (Quellinus: 'he was my friend and this is what I know of him' ['d'was mijnen vrint, en dit wete ik alles van hem')
