Mommers bought a house with him in 1656, where they probably both worked (together?) In hil frail old age Mommers took over the financial care for his friend . (Jager 2016, p. 328-329)

    He bought a house on 11 January 1659 a house at the Koningstraat; in Haarlem in July1661 he had a son outof wedlock. In the mid-60's his mental health seems to have detiriorated and he was send back to his family in Antwerp; in 1665 he was back in Haarlem, but was again send back to Antwerp. In september 1671 he is again mentioned in Haarlem, but again as being mentially confused. By that occasion his brother in law requested permission to use the house on the Koningstraat as collateral to vouch for the cost of his upkeep. This money was then advanced by his friend Hendrick Mommers (Van Thiel-Stroman 2006 & Jager 2016)
