Gerard Pietersz. van Zijl

painter, draftsman
North Netherlandish
Leiden 1607/1608
c. 1607/8. He is mentioned as 'Gerardus Petri van Zyl, Leidensis. 44' in the Album Studiosorum of Leyden University on 18 November 1652 (The Hague 1875, p. 425). The earlier suggestion that he was born in Haarlem, thus appears to be refuted.
Amsterdam 1665-12/1665-12-19
buried on 19 December 1665 (De Vries 1886).
