    since1676; trained with his uncle Girard and became his main assistent (Thieme/Becker 1908); lived since 1698 in the Rue St-Jacques 27. On 27 July 1709 he became a member of the Académie royale de Peinture et Sculpture. In 1714 he moved with royal consent to the palais du Luxembourg; on 26 October 1715 he became 'conseiller'of the Académie and 'graveur du roi'with a lifelong pension of 100 Livres.
