    He became a member of Saint Luke's Guild in 1630, according to Saur 1995 already as early as 1626; active as dean from 1632 till 1637 (Saur 1995); In 1639 the painters separated themselves from the sculptors and a new guild was erected: the "Schilders-College". Van Bijlert became alternately between 1654/55 and 1667-1670 it's dean and it's 'overman' (head-man) (Huys Janssen 1998, p. 46-50).
