‘wijnmeester’ (master by patrimony) in the Guild of St. Luke, Antwerp between 18 September 1628 and 18 September 1629; dean of the Guild in 1628 (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961). On September 13, 1664, Jan Coessiers, painter and his brother-in-law Guilliam Gabron, settled the estate of their brother Anthoni Cossiers. On June 28, 1665 there was a dispute between Baron van Aughem and Nicolaes le Cat concerning the authenticity of a painting by Rubens "Calisto". Joannes Coetsiers and Matthijs Musson, painters, were asked to appraise the work. (verso) They estimated it at 2200 guilders, although they considered it worth much more' "als wesende een juweel ende een van de beste stucken door wijlen Paulus Rubens geschildert" (as it is a true jem and one of the best pieces painted by the late Paulus Rubens) (van Hemeldonck 2007)
