Marie Kelting was leerling van Allebé en werkte veel in Artis. Zij was nauw betrokken bij N.A.M. en ontwierp o.a. het affiche voor de tentoonstelling ' Kunstwerken betrekking hebbend op het dier', dat in de maand april 1916 in Artis gehouden werd. Zij huwde met reptielenverzorger P.Th. Böhncke, die later beeldhouwer werd.
