    master in the Guild of St. Luke, Antwerp in 1493 (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961); active from 1493 until after 1522; about 1490-1493 in the service of Juan II of Portugal (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961, p. 46 & note 6)); c. 1494 'valet de chambre et peintre Monsignor' by Duke Philip the Fair, whom he accompanied to Spain in 1501 and 1505/06; then in the service of Charles V, whom he accompanied to Spain in 1517-1520. On 29 May 1510 Jacob and Lieven settled an inheritance. JAcob sold his brother half a house in Predikherenstraet (van Hemeldonck 2007)

    1497 involved in the decoration of the church of 'Paleis op de Koudenberg'; 1499: see Duverger 1969; 1500, he worked as a decorator at the ceremonies at the death of Albert III, Duke of Saxony
