Comment: Le Gras had diverse dieren in zijn huis en atelier los rondlopen. Hij fokte Arabische rashonden en aparte soort konijnen. Ook had hij een uit Afrika meegebrachte kameleon in zijn collectie, die hij uiteindelijk aan Artis schonk.
