Marius is a renowed Dutch art historian. She taught drawing and painting classes and wrote amongst other magazines for De Nederlandsche Spectator, De Gids, De Nieuwe Gids, De Kroniek, Elseviers Geïllustreerd Maandschrift, Onze Kunst and Woord en Beeld. She also wrote art reviews voor Het Nieuws van de Dag and Het Vaderland. One of her most important publications is: 'De Hollandsche schilderkunst in de 19de eeuw'. (Scheen 1981)
