Until recently the year of his death was said to be 1661, relating to an erroneous restoration of the dated on a painting in Galleria Nazionale in Parma. After cleaning the first three digits were 160.. (Diefenbacher p. 20-21). According toThiery he died after 1653 (erroneous interpretated date on a painting in Saarbrücken, see Diefenbacher 2002, p. 21).
