Married in Haarlem on 26 May 1624 Mayken Geraerts (1597-1668), father of Anthony de Molijn (1635-1702).

Beck 1998 wrongly doubts De Molijn's presence in Rome, which is evidenced by his contribution to the album amicorum Wybrand de Geest: 'In Rome den 6 junij 1618/Pieter du Molyn' (De Geest 1614). Indeed there are no works known that he might have made in Italy, although he created works with Italian subjects later in his career.
