    member of the guild between October 1584 and October 1585 (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961); had to leave for religious reasons after the fall of the city (Luijten et al. 1993)

    as the religious climate was also unstable here, he left for Cologne (Luijten et al. 1993)
  • Keulen (stad) 1589 - 1611
    had a print shop in Cologne, which was run by his wife, printing his own work (Veldman 1993, p. 49); made many portraits of prominent citizens; had to leave however when all Mennonites were outlawed in 1611 by the Council (Luijten et al. 1993)
  • Utrecht (stad) 1612 - 1637
    As off 1612 his prints started to be printed in Utrecht, where he stayed the rest of his life; acquired citizenship on 6 June 1613 (Luijten et al. 1993)
