Fried van Bijnen 29 June 2015: Henri Teixeira de Mattos liet een beeldhouwersatelier met woonhuis bouwen naar eigen ontwerp, aan de Plantage Fransche laan (sind 1945/46 Henri Polaklaan) vrijwel tegenover Artis. De bouwtekening uit 1883 is te vinden in de online Beeldnank van het Gemeentearchief Amsterdam: http://beeldbank.amsterdam.nl/afbeelding/5221BT902069
Van 1946 tot 1978 woonde en werkte in dat zelfde huis de veelzijdige beeldend kunstenaar Constant Nieuwenhuijs, bekend als 'Constant', medeoprichter van Cobra, schepper van Nieuw Babylon, kunstschilder colorist.
