since the 1630s also active as art dealer (Duverger/Vlieghe 1971)
Nationality/school
South Netherlandish
Born
Antwerp (city) 1582
Houbraken 1718-1721, vol. 1, p. 115
Deceased
Antwerp (city) 1649-07-29
He made his will on 29 July 1649 and died shortly afterwards (Duverger/Vlieghe 1971); according to Ecartico he died on that day; his death duties were met however between 18 September 1649 and 17 September 1650: as 29 July 1649 does not fall within this period, it is highly unlikely, that he died in July (JKO, 2020-01) (Rombouts/Van Lerius 1872/1961). Houbraken mistakenly gives 1694 as the year of death (Houbraken 1718-1721, vol. 1, p. 115).
