According to Houbraken, Vorstermans was an advisor to the Marquis in purchasing works of art, including a Holy Family of Frans van Mieris; however, the marquis was not prepared to purchase the painting for 1500 guilders because it was not finished at the death of the artist (RKDimages 2501 or 20258).
