Willem Vincent van Wyttenhorst in the inventory of his paintings, written by himself, 1651-1659: 'Fol. 9, no. 16: 'done by Corñ van Poelenburch; she gave it to my wife for her cabinet and paid seven Flemish pounds for it, without the frame, the name and coats of arms are on the back for the sake of memory for the descendants. 42 – 0 (given in the year 1650 / at Ter Horst Castle)' Between 1648 and 1651 Poelenburch painted a series of small family portraits on copper of the Van Wyttenhorst family; 20 of these are still known.
