According to J. Wadum the canvas used for this painting and that for 'Man with plumed beret' from the SMK - National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen [RKDImages no. 238357] both come from the same roll of fabric (Rønberg/Pedersen/Van de Wetering 2006, p. 133).
