volgens Gerson zijn de figuren van Jan Miel. Vermoedelijk baseerde Gerson zich hierbij op beschrijvingen in 18de-eeuwse veilingcatalogi. Volgens M. de Kinkelder zijn de figuren in o.a. dit werk niet typerend voor Jan Miel (augustus 2011).

Mit Pieter van Laer und Joachim Sandrart zog er zum Studium in die Campagna, und Jan Miel malte ihm die Figuren in seine ersten grossen Gamalde, den "Campo Vacchino", den "Hafen bei Sonnenuntergang" und den "Tanz im Dorf", alle heute im Louvre, letzeres 1639 datiert.'
