De dicussie Van Dyck-Rubens is nog steeds niet tot ieders volle tevredenheid beslecht, doch men gaat er heden (2012) toch van uit dat we met de twee portrtten van de Cordes en zijn vrouw Jacqueline de Caestre te maken hebben met Rubensportretten. Zie lit Barnes 2003
