Regarding this work in its "first state", it was exhibited in 1940 (12 January - 11 February) on the occasion of the "Modern Painting Isms and How They Grew" exhibition, held at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Presumably as a loan from Valentine Dudensing .
On 11 September 2018 I sent you an e-mail with the related documentation.
